Former conductors

Maximiano Valdés

Youthful freshness (1985-1986)

Named in 1985, after a period when guest conductors Odón Alonso and Patrick Juzeau tightened their relationship with the formation substituting Enrique Jordá, he was officially the first chief conductor of the Basque National Orchestra. Chilean in origin, Valdés, who has subsequently enjoyed an outstanding career with the Spanish National Orchestra and the Principado de Asturias Orchestra, was a young international award-winning conductor.
