Information

The Miramon Matinées now come into their 35th season, having established themselves as a unique, intimate venue for enjoying chamber music in all its diversity.

Over the course of 16 Saturdays, these ensembles of musicians from the Basque National Orchestra will take the audience on a journey through a vast variety of eras and styles. Chief among all of these special events will be the celebration of St Sebastian’s Day in January, with a programme taking its inspiration from the musical heritage of the Tamborrada and the San Sebastián carnival. Jazz will feature prominently, first from the vision of Claude Bolling and then with a performance by the Belgian multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer, Tcha Limberger, one of the leading international figures in gypsy jazz. The guest programme will also feature Kea, a leading choral ensemble specialising in contemporary music, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary alongside Josu Okiñena, together with a recital by pianist Steven Lin, winner of the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition and one of the most unique and original figures on the current piano scene.
