Jun Märkl

"Basque National Orchestra must be at the centre of the country's music scene and bring different musical institutions together" (2014-2017)

Jun Märkl has worked on important projects. Among the most recent have been concerts focusing on the figure of Toshio Hosokawa and the recording of a special CD dedicated to the Japanese composer, produced by Naxos.

In addition to this, with Märkl as the conductor, the Orchestra also released a record bringing together pieces by Camille Saint Saëns for the same internationally prestigious label. Both recordings are a great step forward, strengthening the Orchestra's presence on the international music industry.
