Mozart’s Symphony no. 41 and other extraordinary expressions, the most rapturous and popular Ligeti and Britten’s illuminated poems.
The Concert Românesc by György Ligeti, prior to his avant garde period and inspired in the use made of folklore by his compatriot Béla Bartók, is a kaleidoscopic spectacle of rustic melodies and unfrenzied rhythms. Together with him, although at the other end of the aesthetic spectrum, Les Illuminations, a vocal season of unfathomable poetic depth created by Benjamin Britten on texts by Arthur Rimbaud. These will be sung by Elena Sancho-Pereg, the young soprano from San Sebastián who is cementing a successful career in Europe.
On the podium we will have another young talent: Clemens Schuldt, winner of the prestigious Donatella Flick competition and one of the German conductors with greatest international reach, who will end the programme with the last and most perfect of Mozart’s symphony creations, Symphony no. 41 in C major, "Jupiter".
