Information
In March 2023, the orchestra did a four-concert tour in Poland, the birthplace of composers such as Chopin and Penderecki and of great orchestras. The success obtained in the important cities of Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw and Katowice served to revalidate the essence and international vocation of the Basque National Orchestra.
Now it is heading to another cradle of Central European classical music, Austria. Salzburg is the land of Mozart and a vast cultural tradition. The Basque National Orchestra performed in Salzburg in its early years, in the eighties. Now it returns with Robert Trevino and Xavier de Maistre as a guest soloist, and with a demanding programme that it will combine in its three concerts in Salzburg and in Linz. Ravel will return to the orchestra’s music stands on tour, as well as Shostakovich, Glière and Ginastera.
