Matinée 1: Leioa Kantika Korala choir

Kaleido is a mosaic composed with the colours and shapes making up the musical universe of the Leioa Kantika Korala choir. As indicated by Basilio Estulez himself in the notes accompanying the programme, “versatility and variety are perhaps the characteristics which best define the programme." This is a selection of works by contemporary authors of origins as widely ranging as Finland, Sweden, Slovenia, USA, Canada, Singapore, Latvia, Melilla or the Basque Country; they also recreate an imaginary kaleidoscope which ranges from the meeting between a couple of lovers in an Irish forest to a spring snowfall on flowering apple trees, passing through spells, poems by Lorca, the Asian exoticism of fantasy creatures to have emerged at dusk or the solemnity and joy of a traditional Moroccan wedding.
