Information
One of the most brilliant works by Britain’s Britten accompanied by Mendelssohn's "Italian” symphony. In addition to the last creation by Lazkano.
The music of Benjamin Britten returns to the Orchestra stands with one of his most luminous creations, the virtuous Concerto for violin and orchestra, brought to us by Simone Lamsma. The young Dutch performer, one of the most outstanding violinists of her generation, caused a sensation in her recent debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, precisely performing this concerto by Britten. Even more brilliant, if possible, is Mendelssohn’s famous Symphony no. 4, nicknamed the “Italian” due to its reflecting like no other the colourful and jovial spirit of that Mediterranean country.
Together with these two masterpieces, Lawrence Foster, director of the Gulbenkian Orchestra and well known to our audience, will release in our country Ramon Lazkano’s last orchestra composition, Hondar, which saw the light for the first time in Monaco in April.
