The project Elkano: Mundubira musika bidelagun has also weathered the storm of the pandemic and continues on at a steady pace. On this occasion, we will discover the cycle’s third submission: Jakinduriaren usaina from Joël Mérah. This will lead the way for the last piece completed by Hungarian composer Bela Bartok, his Concerto for piano No.3, which holds a lyricism and serenity through its storm of musical ideas that distinguishes it from his two previous, more cutting concertos. It will be interpreted by Varvara, winner of the Concours Geza Anda in 2012 and in demand throughout the world due to the quality and uniqueness of her performances. Mei-Ann Chen, a renowned conductor on the American musical circuit and conductor of the Chicago Sinfonietta and Taiwan Philharmonic, will present Beethoven’s Symphony No.7 thereafter, which Wagner called “the apotheosis of the dance” due to his masterful grasp of rhythm.
