Emiliano Arriaga, while tidying up the attic of his house in Bilbao's old quarter, discovers a locked trunk. He dusts it off and, after much effort, manages to open it. He finds a violin and, while caressing its out-of-tune strings, he also presses the keys of remembrance. He begins to remember all the stories and melodies of that musician uncle of his, Juanito, who died in Paris a few days before his 20th birthday many years ago...
