Armonías Vascas
The long and rich tradition of Basque choir music has its obvious reflection in the Orchestra’s first steps in the field of phonography. This album therefore includes the first recordings made by the Basque Orchestra of opera and zarzuela music by Basque composers. Moving between tradition and the avant garde, this LP recorded in San Sebastián’s Basilica of Santa María brings an interesting palette of fragments of works composed in the 19th and 20th centuries, taken through its steps by a no less interesting baton, that of the composer Carmelo Bernaola.
