Jun Märkl named chief conductor of the Basque National Orchestra

Coinciding with his return to Euskadi as general manager, Oriol Roch formally announced that Jun Märkl would be heading the Basque orchestra for the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 seasons.

2014/2015 Season: “Reencounters”

The start of the new 2014/2015 Season pivots around three essential activities: the presence of Jun Märkl as Musical Advisor; participation in the important European contemporary music festival at La Biennale di Venezia and the celebration of a season entitled “Reencounters”.

The British pianist in vogue, Benjamin Grosvenor, brings the Basque Orchestra concert season to an end

Grosvenor will perform with the BNO from May 29 to June 4 under the baton of Andrey Boreyko. On May 31 he will also bring the Miramón Matinées season to a close with a recital.
